Donation Received from Missouri State Beta Club

The Missouri State Beta Clubs’ state officers organized an impromptu fundraiser for the Branson Tornado Recovery Effort, after noting the destruction in the conventions’ host city.  A check in the amount of $750 was presented to the Community Foundation of Taney County, President, Dr. Doug Jordan, and former Beta Club President.

“It is refreshing to see the compassion that comes from young men and women today,” said Dr. Doug Jordan, President of the Community Foundation of Taney County. “Beta Club is a great organization that helps build character in our students, nationwide, and we are truly grateful for their generosity during their visit to Branson.”

To distribute the funds, the Community Foundation of Taney County will form a panel of representatives from the City of Branson, Branson Chamber of Commerce, and the Community Foundation. Over the next month, the Foundation will review grant applications from local non-profits providing relief and recovery, after the storm. To download an application log-on to www.cfotc.org

Beta’s motto is “Let Us Lead by Serving Others.”   Approximately 1,800 students from more than 50 schools attended the convention over the weekend.
